Variable Frequency Drive or VFD is a motor controller that drives an electric motor by varying the frequency and voltage of its power supply. VFDs are also capable to ramp-up and ramp-down of the motor during start or stop. Using a VFD can greatly contribute to energy cost savings as it delivers optimum power required by the application.
